World Cup '99

 

Scotland are making their International debut straight with the World Cup. They earned the right to do so by coming third in the ICC trophy where the lost to Bangladesh in the semi-finals .They got their revenge when they beat Bangladesh when they toured England . Hence they are expected to have atleast one victory here.

The Scottish team is made up of weekend - cricketers with George Salmond leading the way . He is a good bat and can score runs at a brisk pace . The Scottish team though isn't at its best and has lost to some counties last season. The Scottish team strenght has been boosted by the presence of Yorkshire player George Hamilton who chose to play for Scotland instead of England.

On the other and Ian Peebles , David Larter , Mike Denness , Eric Russel and Peter Such are a few Scottish players who have worn the England Cap .
